Episode and sequential patterns

What is the difference between episode mining and sequential pattern mining? I read some paper that said episode mining is an extension of sequential pattern mining. But after looking at their papers, I am still not sure if they are the same. I would like to know what is the use of sequential patter...

Re: IEEE Transactions journals suitable for pattern mining papers

That is some good journals but not very easy :-P

I am interested by the IEEE TKDE but I think it requires massive work.

Re: Summer

I think for this summer, it will just be work. If I can get free time, maybe go to travel a week or two.

I am quite amazed by the speed of FP-Growth in SPMF. It must be one of the fastest implementation around ;-) Thanks!

Re: Sequential pattern mining with timestamps?

In SPMF, there is one algorithm called the Hirate & Yamana algorithm that handle the timestamps in sequential pattern mining. I did not try it but I have seen it. Maybe it is suitable in your problem or task.

Re: Plagiarism in research papers

Yes, self-plagiarism is not something to take lightly in recent years. Publisher checks and compare papers to find the similarity and can easily reject a paper that is too similar to other papers (even your papers).
